Antietam was the first battle on northern soil and that day it was the most bloodiest battle day. more than 22,000 casualties. john had night night mares from the battle of antietam and kathy comforted him to try to stop the night mares.

Elmira was a prison camp for confederates that heve either surrendered or have been captured. in the blue and the gray Luke was caught and sent to elmira.
wilderness
over the course of two days the armies fought a bloody battle through thickets and thick wooded areas. in the blue and the gray johns brother was shot and killed by a falling tree that was on fire.
Fort Sumter
confederate artillery open fired on fort Sumter after 34 hours of long battle the union surrendered.
richmond
in Richmond during the civil war lots of people died from cannon explosions and starvation, they some times had to eat dead horses to stay alive. in the blue and gray Emma had he kid and he husband died from a cannon explosion.
bull run
it was the first major land battle, and this is where Thomas J. Jackson earned the nom de guerre "stonejackson". one of john Guysers cousins died right before the battle of bull run.
Harpers Ferry
In Harper's Ferry John Brown tried to steal weapons to give to the slaves to start a rebellion. The raid was a fail and later on John Brown was hung. In the The Blue and The Gray John Brown was captured and stayed in Harper's Ferry to be hanged.
